I ordered from GrubHub tonight, and the food arrived remarkably quickly. The spring rolls were tasty, but the yellow fish and ahi in the poke bowl were quite fishy, which wasn’t ideal. While it wasn’t terrible, I probably wouldn’t order it again because of that. I’d likely prefer to dine in if I decide to give it another try. Overall, I’d rate the food a 3 out of 5. Unexpected joy both JJ’s and the neighboring Banh Appetit are SO GOOD.Poke, ramen, and a tasty cha shu/char siu bun (so hard to find up here!)Ingredients tasted clean and fresh, and it was exactly what I wanted. At first I was confusing it with another on campus poke place which is not nearly as good…glad I followed the map here!!
Used to be a super cute spot on campus to grab poke! Still decent prices but the lobby is closed since COVID so only to-go/takeout. Still good food though.Food: 5/5
Another one of my favorite places on the Minnesota campus. Lots of options at a really great price. My favorite place to get poke in the twin cities. Always very fast and friendly service. Their other location in Edina might be just a bit more consistent but I have never had a bad experience here.Food: 5/5
The tonkotsu ramen is probably the best comfort food in dinkytownFood: 5/5
I love JJs poke and decided to join their rewards program this time because you get 5% off every bowl. I love all their options and think the price is reasonable for poke. Their ingredients taste fresh and flavorful. There isn't a ton of seating since they closed off half the restaurant, so I recommend doing take out. The inside is a bit cramped. I love that you don't have to hover over all the ingredients and that it's in the kitchen. All you have to do is fill out a form and they get it to you super quickly. They also are happy to answer any questions that you have about the ingredients. Parking is a pain but parking in Dinkytown is always a pain.
