The restaurant was very busy, probably as a result of a volleyball tournament flooding it with big groups. So we waited about 20 minutes past our reservation time, and even when seated the staff was still trying to cope with the crowd. The food was good, and I would be willing to give them another shot to see if as I suspect the big crowds were responsible for the slow service. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Salsa A La Salsa Downtown (nicollet):
The food was not fresh; the chips tasted like they had been soaked in oil and left out for a few days. Everything had a slightly burnt flavor. Additionally, the service was very slow. View all feedback.
Chicken in the burrito was bad/overcooked/ burnt and cold. The sauce on the burrito was tasty. About 5 patrons for lunch.
This place has the best mexi food in Minneapolis. Awesome family style atmosphere. Probably my favorite food place nearby.
Great Mexican Food! Had the Tinga Tacos and they were amazing.
It was okay, but nothing special. One thing that did leave a sour taste in my mouth was that my friend 's dish got brought out with 3 or 4 hairs that were clearly visible. It was hard for anyone to have much of an appetite after that. We told the server and he grabbed the dish and said 'oh no ' but never actually apologized to her. Then when the dish came back out it was nothing special. The dish was pupusas and they barely had cheese in them. I had the chicken fajitas and they were okay, but I 've definitely had much better fajitas in town. The 2 for 1 margaritas and $3 Mexican beers for happy hour were nice though, and we ordered nachos to start that were pretty good. I 'd say if you live nearby, go for happy hour drinks and nachos, but I wouldn 't recommend anyone go out of their way for this restaurant. We won 't be back, but glad we tried someplace new.
The food was amazing, including the recommendation from our waiter. Our son enjoyed practicing his Spanish, too.
