Level Five Cafe - Minneapolis
Level Five Cafe
Description
Level Five Cafe at the Guthrie Theater offers a mixed dining experience, often reflecting the pressures of being a pre-show spot. While some patrons rave about the innovative, delicious dishes and attentive service, others encounter disappointing food and slow service, especially during peak times. The menu features varied options, including well-prepared salads and flavorful soups, but some sandwiches fall short of expectations. Though the ambiance is lively and the location convenient, diners are advised to make reservations and arrive early to avoid delays. Overall, with fluctuating quality and service, the restaurant may appeal to those willing to manage their expectations.

Level Five at the Guthrie is a more relaxed dining choice. The menu aims to be somewhat inventive without being too outlandish, and most dishes are successful. It may not be the best choice for young children. I have had good experiences with the entrees, so it's fine to come in with moderate expectations. The sandwiches and burgers are tasty and consistent. However, the staff can be overwhelmed, leading to slow and inattentive service when there are multiple shows happening simultaneously. Your best bet is to visit on a night with only one performance. The drink menu features cleverly named cocktails inspired by the evening's show. Overall, this is a good, laid-back option for a pre-show meal.
The food at this restaurant has consistently been delicious, and I really like that they change up their menu. The portions are on the smaller side and it might be a bit pricey, but it's worth it, especially considering its convenient location near the Guthrie theater. The service has always been satisfactory. Overall, no complaints!
I live across the street from this restaurant and the food is good, although a bit pricey for my taste. However, everyone seems to enjoy it. The presentation of the food is appealing, and the atmosphere is always lively with people having a good time. The wait staff is attentive and prompt.
This is a fantastic restaurant located at the Guthrie Theater. The menu is perfectly sized, offering a wonderful variety. The food and wine selection are both excellent.
I’m not sure what has happened here. The service has gotten very bad. We have given it a couple tries this year and been disappointed both times. No contact after being seated, the server never asked to refill or order more drinks or check on us at all, no offer to order desert and like pulling teeth to get your check. That being said, he had many tables all around us. The experience here has been in steady decline for several years. We will spend our restaurant dollars someplace else nearby when we come here for performances.
