Harry Singh's Original Caribbean
Harry Singh's Original Caribbean
Description
At Harry's, a beloved spot in Minneapolis, diners rave about the authentic Trinidadian cuisine, particularly the Curry Potato and Chickpea Roti Dahlpourie and the renowned Skorpion Sauce. While some have encountered inconsistencies in pricing and service, most highlight the generous portions and homey atmosphere. The Jamaican patties and perfectly caramelized fried plantains are frequently mentioned as must-tries. Although the restaurant may lack upscale decor, the flavorful dishes and personal touch from Harry himself, often seen cooking and serving, keep loyal customers coming back. For spice lovers, Harry's remains a cherished culinary gem worth savoring.

Curry goat roti was delicious and not spicy. We also got jerk chicken, very good, but as many people have mentioned, very spicy.
The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. The food is delicious but extremely spicy—honestly, it’s the spiciest I’ve ever tasted! If you’re in search of something fiery, this is the place to go. The owner is also very kind. It’s a great spot!
I found this place by accident I got turned around looking for a different restaurant, but didn't have too much time left on my lunch break to go exploring, plus I had never tried Caribbean cuisine before, so I took a chance. It's a bit small and has hole in the wall kind of vibes, but the owner was super friendly. And his recommendation of the jerked chicken was spot on! The container he gave me was basically overflowing with spicy, tender, juicy goodness. It lasted me two meals, there was so much. I'm a glutton for punishment, so next time I go I'll probably ask for the hot hot spice level, but whatever level of heat he made it at this time was still enough to make my nose run.
Regretted purchasing the chicken curry roti. Look at it! $17 for that sad looking meal. Not worth it. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
I feel that everyone should visit Harry Singhs in Minneapolis if they ever get the chance. He's arguably the best Caribbean cook in the state, an amazing human being, AND he is a one man operation. Cook, call taker, server, cleaner, etc. Ive been coming here for 15 years and plan on going until he retires. Try the jerk roti and beef patties. Go give em some love, yall!!! Atmosphere it's a time capsule, but that's half the charm of his business Food you can't go wrong; try the roti for sure!! Price affordable $5 15 per dish) PS Don't forget to take home a bottle of his homemade, original signature sauce. It definitely lives up to its label~ Oh God It's Hot!
