Description
**The Backyard: A Unique Yet Flawed Experience**
The Backyard offers a lively atmosphere ideal for gatherings, featuring outdoor seating, games, and affordable drinks. Visitors appreciate the vibrant social scene, making it a popular choice for bar crawls and casual hangouts. However, experiences can vary; some cite inconsistent service from bartenders and confusing drink pricing, while others express frustration over unprofessional staff during events like karaoke. Concerns about cleanliness and the presence of dogs further complicate the ambiance. While it has potential for a fun night out, patrons may find it hit-or-miss based on service quality and the event experience.

I visited this bar for my bachelorette party, hoping to enjoy some karaoke. However, when I asked the woman in charge about the timing for our song, she was incredibly rude and dismissive, saying it wasn't her problem. If you're running karaoke, shouldn't it be your responsibility? To make matters worse, she appeared quite disheveled. I recommend hiring more professional staff, as we were a group of eight who won't be returning. Additionally, the drinks are overpriced and the bartenders seemed more focused on playing dice with their friends than attending to customers.
Perhaps I'm missing something. This place is supposedly a popular spot in the neighborhood, but I found the bartenders to be average at best. The prices for drinks fluctuated throughout the night for the same item, which was confusing. The use of tiny plastic cups for drinks felt unusual for Wisconsin; I’d prefer a full-sized glass since I’m an adult. Overall, it’s an okay venue if there’s nothing else happening. By the way, I misspelled "allegedly."
To bad learning you are different friendly for those of us allergic. Don't know why you need your dog in a bar, nor why you think your dog wants to be there? Last summer just as I was about to enter Nomad on Brady Street, two large dogs started going at it very aggressively and the owners were barely able to pull them apart. Not all dogs are friendly, not all dogs get along with other dogs. Seeing a photo someone posted of their Pitbull wearing a muzzle is scary enough.
