Dairy Queen

Dairy Queen
3.5 / 5 (3931 reviews)

Description

Nestled next to the scenic Oak Leaf Trail, this Dairy Queen offers a convenient stop for outdoor enjoyment. While the menu boasts favorites like the Oreo Blizzard and chili cheese dogs, the service experience can be hit-or-miss. Customers have reported issues with incorrect orders and refunds, along with a lackluster cooking method for some items. Nevertheless, the reasonable prices, fantastic young staff, and easy accessibility make it a kid-friendly choice. For those seeking a quick treat after biking the trail, delivery options keep ice cream delights frozen and spirits high. Overall, potential and pitfalls coexist.

Disrespectful. Insulting. Rude. Condescending. Inappropriate. These are just a few of the unflattering words that describe an experience that ruined our date night. I'm echoing my wife's feelings about our outing this evening. My blizzard was fine, but hers was only about three-quarters full. When she expressed her dissatisfaction, the young woman at the front—who often has an attitude—added some ice cream on top. It looked unappealing and didn't have any of the ingredients mixed in properly. Once again, we had to plead with the staff to fix it. Andrew, the young man at the front, refused to mix the blizzard, wanted to charge us for adding toppings to make it right, and even suggested that we pay for a new one. To make matters worse, he called us blind and insisted that "I (he) am right and you (me) are wrong." Even hours later, I'm still shocked by how terrible this experience was. Well done, Andrew and the young woman. Your unwillingness to resolve the situation just cost you a loyal customer. I hope the $0.20 in Butterfinger you saved is worth the lost revenue.

My husband and I went out for a treat tonight, but we left absolutely horrified. We both ordered blizzards: his was nicely filled with a good amount of candy, while mine was only about three-quarters full and had hardly any candy in it. I asked if they could make mine like his, but they just added extra ice cream instead. When I requested that they remake it, the person who prepared my blizzard became completely unhinged. He insulted and berated us, behaving in an inappropriate and condescending manner. He claimed he wouldn't remake it because he cared too much about the environment, asserting that remaking it would be wasteful. To my shock, he went on to suggest that I must have some disabilities, even stating that at least one of them must be blindness. He insisted he was right and that we were wrong, refusing to take responsibility while the other employees stood by and ignored the situation. When I asked for a refund, he claimed he didn't have the authority to issue one. My husband pleaded with him again to just do the right thing and remake it, but he stated that he would charge us an additional $7 for that. At this point, we decided to leave, but I can honestly say I've never had such a terrible and traumatic experience. This young man, who said his name was Andrew, truly shocked me with the things he said and his sense of entitlement for someone so young. His mocking of the disabled was especially egregious and crossed a line that should never be crossed.

You can't go wrong with an Oreo cookie Blizzard! The restaurant only offers outdoor seating, but the location is great since it's situated along the Oak Leaf Trail.
