Contribute Feedback What Bob T likes about Koppa's Fulbeli Deli:
I've been coming here for years. I've lived in other states too, but this is my favorite deli and corner store I've been to and glad to be back close to it. Excellent sandwiches, full grocery, beer cave, and large liquor section. Final bonus is an ATM, it's come in handy more times than I could imagine. View all feedback.
What Cleora Shanahan doesn't like about Koppa's Fulbeli Deli:
Previously it was koppas fulbelli deli, now it is called koppas fulbelli deli. more impressive transition from what was a neighboring institution. now a glorified convenience store. a lost translation event is going on here. they got a lot of cold beer, and the change is constant, so they melt up and note that there is a new beer depot in the city! Their deli has some of the best sandwiches you will ever have! Skip the subway subs and the Jimmy John's. Support local and try their amazing sandwiches! Plenty of options to choose from at a very cheap price! A must try in the Milwaukee area! Perfect for grabbing to go and having a picnic by the water. Highly highly suggest!
I used to live nearby, so I would stop over for a hot sandwich at a fair price when I didn't want to cook. They have some light groceries including spaghetti, incense, and candy. Half the store is a liquor store, carrying a good split of hard liquor, beer, and selection of wine at decent prices. Individual soft drinks available.
I drove past this several times and assumed it was just a corner store/small grocer, until I noticed the sign for sandwich specials. I went it for the $3.99 lunch special, which was over by the time I got there. However they have an extremely large variety of sandwiches, many with funny names, most of which seem to be variations on common sandwiches with extra toppings. The names and the variety and the minute differences do make it hard to choose a sandwich, I eventually settled on on what appeared to be a variation of an Italian panini. The ingredients were good, and fresh, with plenty of meat. It was about normal sandwich size. It appears they just used regular sliced bread in a panini press. The extra ingredients in this case were sliced raw peppers, which seemed odd, but I wanted to try the sandwich as it came. They didnt make sense to me as an extra ingredient. It did seem like a small sandwich for the $8 price tag. Looking around, it at first appears to be your average small grocery store with a deli counter but there are lots of interesting details. There are recliners and lounge chairs to relax in while waiting for your food. There is a moose head. There is lots of quirky decor mixed in with circa 1960s corner store lights and shelving personally I prefer the retro, non remodeled feel, compared to the rebuilt gentrified stores elsewhere. I didnt look at any of the grocery items, but there were some snacks at the register that caught my eye. The prices seemed a little steep and I didnt need them so I opted against. I dont know if I'd go out of my way for any of their sandwiches, especially at the price point. I'll have to try more and see if there's one that's magic. The one I tried was good, but not magic, and $8 for a normal sized sandwich. But still, this is way better than your average corner store grocer and I bet it's a gem if you live nearby.
I stopped here on a 3 month road trip and thought this place was great! It was such a cool little spot that of all the places I went, when I left Koppa's I actually wanted to leave a good review for them. The sandwiches were very interesting and yummy and the owner was super nice! The prices are fair, the beer selection was impressive and they have Atari in the back! I definitely plan on stopping here next time I'm in Milwaukee.
