Nothing special. Food was just okay and flooded with sauce. Sides were not hot. Specials were just posted on a whiteboard not explained by waiter. Wait staff was just adequate. Very disappointing. Not what it used to be.
As for the food, we all ordered the specials for the evening. I chose the Mahi Mahi, which was disappointing—bland and topped with a few stewed tomatoes that added no flavor. My brother had stuffed calamari over spaghetti, but his dish had a lot of water pooled at the bottom. Eventually, he managed to catch the waiter to ask for more sauce. The waiter brought out a gravy boat, added some sauce to the spaghetti, poured the rest over it, told him "Bon appétit," and then seemed to forget about us for dessert. Both of our wives were also unhappy with their meals. Overall, regardless of its so-called status as a classic Italian restaurant with traditional cuisine, I would recommend saving your money and avoiding this place. After everything we've been through with COVID, rising inflation, and increased costs, you’d think Spaccarelli’s would try harder. Unfortunately, that clearly wasn't the case during our visit.
I recently had dinner at Spacc's and was truly impressed by the fantastic food and exceptional service. The baked clams were among the best I've ever tasted—cooked to perfection with a rich garlic and butter sauce. The fried calamari was also remarkable; crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. To start, the antipasto platter offered a wonderful selection of meats, cheeses, and vegetables, all beautifully arranged. The highlight of my meal was the veal chop parm; the veal was cooked flawlessly, and the parmesan and marinara sauce was absolutely delicious. The service was attentive and outstanding, and my extra dirty martini was made exactly right. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking delicious Italian cuisine and a fantastic dining experience. I can't wait to return!
The restaurant was lively when we arrived, and since we didn't have a reservation, we were seated in the cozy enclosed patio, which was quite comfortable. The service was attentive, and the food was outstanding. The drinks were delicious, though a bit pricey. Overall, it was a delightful evening.
