Description
Samurai is an authentic sushi bar that serves fresh sashimi, nigiri, and a variety of rolls in a beautifully decorated interior featuring classic Japanese style. Guests can also enjoy fully cooked Japanese entrees if they are not fans of sushi. One popular appetizer is the poke salad, made with fresh tuna in a citrus dressing on a bed of spinach. The menu includes classic sushi rolls like Philly, California, and firecracker rolls, as well as more unique options. Samurai is known for their fantastic tempura dinners with generous portions, and they also have a wide selection of imported sake at their fully stocked bar.

I had a fantastic sushi experience, rating it 10/10. The fish was of high quality and generously portioned. We ordered miso soup, a variety of rolls, and some nigiri, all of which were delicious. The service was exceptional, with a well-coordinated team ensuring all our needs were met promptly. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Be cautious with take-out orders! My family has been loyal customers of Samauri for 15 years, dining there once a week consistently. Despite challenges such as the pandemic, staffing issues, long waits, and price increases, we continued to support the restaurant. However, during our most recent visit, I noticed that our bill was higher than usual (we always order the same dish). Upon requesting an itemized receipt, I discovered a $10.40 charge for takeout. When inquiring about the charge, we were informed that it was for the paper containers. This seemed unreasonable to me, as the cost of a paper container is minimal. As a loyal customer, I am willing to overlook certain inconveniences, but this was a step too far. Sadly, we will not be returning to Samauri and I will no longer recommend them. Price gouging is never acceptable.
Fresh sushi can be found at all of Mill Valley restaurants. The service is top-notch when dining in. This place is best for dinner meals, with the price per person ranging from $50 to $100.

Recent take 8/12/23out order was not up to previous quality. The restaurant was busy but food quality was poor. The sushi was not uniformly sized and and the Ca roll was tasteless. the unagi don rice plate lacked sauce and flavor. The unagi was not arranged on the rice but rather placed in one clump. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner
