the gravity tavern was a bit mixed bag, but overall I had to give him four stars. their cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were fabulous. our waiter offered a suggestion for a wine that fits perfectly to our dish. the subpages? eating was not hot when it arrived at the table. the fried chicken looked like a mess. What User doesn't like about Gravity Tavern:
Food was good, but not great, and felt over-priced for what we got. Brussel sprouts were a great starter. Short-ribs are as good as you'd want, but small portion. And the burger was meh which was a let-down especially when paying $27.Want to try again, but based on price point of this menu, I'd rather go to other places in downtown Mill Valley. The Gravity Tavern was a bit of a mixed bag, but overall I would give it four stars. The cocktails and appetizers were fantastic. Our server recommended a wine that paired perfectly with our meal. The downside? The food was not served hot and the fried chicken looked messy.

This restaurant and bar has a fantastic atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The menu offers a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options, as well as fresh seasonal dishes. Convenient parking is available on the property either towards the back of the restaurant or nearby.
My wife and I had reservations at another restaurant, but after waiting without a menu, we decided to go somewhere else. Gravity was very busy, but they were able to seat us outside at 8:00pm. Our server (Rudy) was very friendly and attentive. Despite being the only ones outside, he made sure to check on us frequently and even brought extra heat lamps to keep us warm. The owner/manager also came out to chat with us and share some funny stories. The food arrived quickly and tasted delicious. My wife particularly enjoyed the steelhead (salmon). It was a lovely evening and we will definitely be returning.
Not sure what justifies the 3.9 rating but maybe it’s the fastidious clientele of Mill Valley. Judging this purely from the food, it was perfect. I really couldn’t believe this was the sister restaurant from the Beach Chalet from the other side of the bay. Whatever you do though, get a reservation! It was tough being a walk-in and having to hang out next to the hostesses in the front. Great experience!
