While in Midland, I was looking for something open late at night since I was hungry, and the Maple Canadian Pub happened to be near me and open, so I decided to... read more While in Midland, I was looking for something open late at night since I was hungry, and the Maple Canadian Pub happened to be near me and open, so I decided to eat there. I took a seat at the bar and since they are known in the town for making a greatBison burger, I decided to give it a try. Even though the burger was not on their late night menu, the staff and the chef werekind enough to make an exception and they decided to serve it for me. The staff there seemed to know many of the people at thebar at a personal level, which I thought was pretty cool. Some of them were regulars who lived in the area and one of them wasfrom Mississauga who comes here regularly to visit his grandparents and to get away from the city. The staff and the customershere were all very friendly and nice to talk to. The burger was incredible. It was a 6oz Grilled Bison Burger with SmokeyCheddar, Tempura Onion, Chipotle Ketchup and Beer Mustard. Everything went well together, and it tasted extremely fresh and verylean. I really enjoyed the burger. The fries were hand cut, seasoned, and made fresh in the kitchen. It was very good. The stafftold me that this burger is one of their lighter items, which I find tough to believe, since I was quite full from eating justhalf the burger! I heard that the beef brisket is excellent here as well, so if I'm in the area, I might come back to give it atry!

My poutine was extremely salty, and my chicken wings tasted like it had freezer burn. I did not want to send my food back , because I didn't want to risk it to be returned to mewith a Little something special if you know what I mean (no offense to the pub I have trust issues from watching too manykitchen nightmare episodes). I was hungry so i ate it and will now drink a few liters of water and pray i don't swell up like ablow fish. This place has potential but the waitstaff needs to act like they enjoy being there. Clean the tables after peopleleave and have a clean table ready for new clientele. Wipe the lipstick off the wine glasses. Pry the salt and pepper shakerfrom the chefs hands before he gives someone very high blood pressure and this place would be GREAT

DOZENS of nasty thick spiders COATED every door, every light over ever every table, every corner and some just dangling from the middle if the room! I have a debilitating fear of spiders and with no exit felt trapped and began to panic. The less than useless staff handed my husband a broom so he could clear a doorway as he was told, we 're by the water, it 's just the way it is . I have 4 kids, I walked thru our front door with a red swollen face and mascara everywhere, which caused my two youngest to immediately cry. A spider infestation sounds like a health code violation to me.
