I've never spent so much on chicken and fries before, not even at Kentucky Fried Chicken or Popeyes. This 16-piece meal and small box of fries cost me $81! If it had been good, I wouldn't have minded the price, but it all ended up in the trash. I wish I could have taken a picture to show just how shocked I am. Who can say they've had a dry chicken leg? I can! The white meat was stringy and so dry that I could barely swallow it without water. I'm sorry to leave a negative review, but if the chicken was cooked multiple times and still came out like this, that's a big problem. I should have opted for two party-sized pizzas from Pizza Delight instead—it would have been cheaper and much more delicious. I really thought that the small-town Dixie Lee would be a treat!
The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. The chicken was good, but the crispy fries were outstanding!
There was a bit of a wait for the food, even with an advance order. The chicken was nice and had a crispy skin while remaining juicy on the inside. However, the real highlight of this restaurant is the fries. I can confidently say they are the best fries I've ever had—crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. If nothing else, make sure to try their fries!
