I now understand why this restaurant is empty when it has the potential to be busy. The food was simply inedible. I ordered the snack plate, and the candied bacon was gray and rubbery. The deviled egg was just a single hard-boiled egg that had an overpowering clove flavor, and the frickles were soggy, burnt, and tasted stale. The setting of the vineyard is quite picturesque, try the gourmet cheese, honey and spicy jam with bread.
What a fantastic place! The staff is always incredibly attentive. I love the wine selection, and the food was excellent. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience. We visited for brunch, and the price per person was over $100.
Taproot is a great spot to grab a beer and some food made from local ingredients. The location is easy to get to (right on the main road) and the setting is beautiful.
