Haitian food will always be good BUT this places makes sure that not only will the food be good be the service as well!

Manjay serves modern Caribbean fare at The Citadel in Miami, marrying Haitian classics with inventive twists. Standouts include conch fritters, Coco Loco shrimp and generous jerk chicken bowls, plus vibrant vegan options—all fresh, made-to-order and good value. The atmosphere is chic and lively, ideal for casual dates or group outings, though music can be loud. Service is generally friendly but can be inconsistent, and ordering uses a phone-notification system. Overall, a contemporary, flavorful take on Caribbean cuisine with several must-try appetizers.

Absolutely delicious! We visited today and already can't wait to return. We tried the mofongo appetizer, which was fantastic, along with the Coco Loco shrimp and the avocado toast. We would gladly order everything again!

This Caribbean restaurant is anything but traditional! Their tagline, "modern Caribbean cuisine," truly reflects the dishes they serve. The flavors felt more like a fusion of different cuisines, which might be influenced by the Caribbean's diverse culinary heritage from colonization. For instance, the Jerk Chicken paired with coconut rice had hints of Asian inspiration, leading me to feel as if I should be eating it with chopsticks. It wasn't the classic Jamaican jerk chicken I grew up with, which is usually rich in spices and slow-cooked over a fire or grill. Instead, this version was breaded and reminiscent of a Caribbean twist on General Tso's chicken. Despite that, the food is of high quality and prepared fresh daily, made only when ordered. The bowls come with two sides, providing a generous portion and great value. I also noticed that these dishes have a bit of heat, which might be a consideration for those who are sensitive to spice. Overall, your taste buds will thank you for taking them on this flavorful journey!

Delicious and flavorful food. Friendly staff and did not disappoint. I had the jerk chicken bowl and roasted corn on the cob with a spicy sauce. Definitely exceeded my expectations and will be back.

This restaurant is truly the definition of modern style Caribbean cuisine. I’m super glad that Haitians are finally being able to get the recognition that they deserve in such a chic way, but still holding on to the dishes that are super impactful in thecountry of Haiti. I decided to try the vegan bowl with the sides of “Diri Djon Djon” and Curry Veggies With a side of“Banan Payzay” and “Pikliz” . The curry veggies had such an astounding amount of flavor. Shocking, how amazing that ittasted. The amount of vegetables provide it was a bit much, but the taste itself mixed in with the rice was such a perfectcombo. The Pikliz could’ve been a bit spicier just like the traditional way but understanding the area the spice may be a bitmuch for others , and the Banan was amazing y love the seasonings added on the top . If you’re in the area and looking forCaribbean style cuisine in a modern way this is definitely the place to come try out and get a taste of Haiti in Miami.

My wife and I decided to come by the Citadel for a drink and some snacks. The steak bites and Conch fritters sounded good so we ordered, and wow...definitely delivered on flavor! Steak bites had more steak than I expected for the price, and had some friessoaking up extra sauce at the bottom of the bowl, but there were two dipping sauced included as well. Conch fritters were alsoexcellent. Honey mustard dipping sauce hit the spot, distinguishable Conch chunk in the middle and the shape really looks likethey are made in-house, not the mass market perfect sphere ones you see at a lot of places. Next time I'll grab photos andupdate, both appetizers went down too quickly, then I thought maybe I should give them a review haha. Kinda want to come backfor the jerk chicken full meal anyway.
