Been a fan of Mr. Singh's food since they were in the Elmwood food court 20 some odd years ago.
I eat there every day and take home for Sunday since they are closed different everyday and authentic and fresh if you like Indian food this is the only authentic Indian food within driving distance need to go to India for any comparable food
Enjoyed the buffet and the variety of food available
I've been enjoying the cooking these folks have been doing for over 20 years at various locations in the Nola. From the Elmwood mall food court to canal street to my first visit at this location yesterday. I had the lunch buffet which was simple, tandoori chicken, chicken curry, butter chicken, good nan and lentils. Come to think of it there was nothing on the buffet but chicken, meat wise...... Everything was good enough to scratch my itch for Indian cuisine but I wouldn't say anything knocked my socks off. Service was decent and as for cleanliness, they must have remodeled or something because though not spotless, the place was neat, table cloths whatnot, clean but is obviously in an old building a little lived in. A more than decent lunch experience, all things considered.
I 'm a total noob to Indian food, so read this knowing that much about me. <br/ <br/ It 's a tiny hole-in-the-wall sort of place, but it was clean and the girl working was very friendly. The buffet was rather small but it was heavy on entrees rather than sides. It was, in my opinion, a great introduction to Indian food without being committed to a whole plate of something a person may or may not like. All of it tasted fresh, nothing tasted 'off ' or odd. The butter chicken and tandoori chicken were amazing, as was the lamb curry. It was a good bit pricier than I would have liked, but it was mostly worth it.
