I recommend... read more Italy is a fantastic place. Sicily in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea is my preferred region where I go often to visit the land of my ancestors. I recommend to visit Messina the beautiful city on the strait. View the churches, the bell tower in the center of the city, and the port. Admire the spectacular channel that separate Sicily from the rest of Italy. By the port there is a cute little restaurant I 'll Vecchio Borgo that makes the best heros of Sicily. I tried the new 'Trump Panino ' made with eggs and fried potatoes, my daughter got the 'Panino Vikingo ' prepared with smocked salmon and other ingredients The service is exceptional but you need to wait few minutes to be served because there is always a crowd of tourists that want to try their specialties. Buon appetito.

A variety of “panini” made with fresh cold cuts, cheese, pickled vegetables olive oil and vinegar. You choose the ingredients, they combine them to perfection. There is always a line of customers waiting to be served. Panini are good, big and not expansive. You can eat a panino for just one euro! A trip in Messina is not completed without a visit to this characteristic store. Enjoy it.
