A modern, contemporary Asian fusion dining experience. A very nice ambiance in the dine-in area with dance music playing in the speakers. I got the classic chicken pad thai and I was surely not disappointed! View all feedback.
What Dawn Hershey doesn't like about Wu's House Merrillville:
We didn?t wait long for a hibachi table we both had steak and scallops. We definitely got a lot of food. Salad and soup, fried rice, noodles, vegetables,2 shrimp, steak and scallops. We got our bill they charged an 18% gratuity so I didn?t give an extra tip. On the way out we saw the sign that says they charge all dine in customers 18%. My husband and I always tip well over the rate if you are a good server. But if yo... View all feedback.
Excellent experience, went with a huge group and they were able to seat us quickly and serve us in a very reasonable amount of time! The atmosphere was somewhat loud and lively, lots of entertainment from the cooks. The food was as expected, we sat at the hibachi table and ate fried rice, noodles, grilled vegetables and an assortment of meat poultry and tuna. Everything was well seasoned and the service was exceptional. I certainly would return and recommend thisparticular location to others. I did eat at a Wu?s in Frankfort IL that was not as good. Overall worth the trip, the bill for our large group was $413.
Decor and ambience was very cool. Very inviting. We sat at the bar so we wouldn't have to wait. Someone helped us right away with drinks, appetizers, etc. She was very helpful and very attentive. We went all out and got some cocktails, beer, and sake bombs. The menu had a decent selection of drink options but alot of it was unavailable, which is understandable given the current supply chain issue. For appetizers we opted for the edamame (always a classic, always good),Thai coconut shrimp (to die for, a must of you're looking for a great app), and beef negimaki (I probably wouldn't order it again but I'm glad I tried it). Sooo many choices for Sushi Rolls! The problem with that is, you don't know what'sactually good! We ordered the Chef's special roll, Jaguar roll, Honey roll, and the table side presented Fire roll. I give these rolls a 3 out of 5, unfortunately. Presentation was good, I probably just failed to order the right ones thatwould personally hit the spot. We wanted to try one of the Thai main dishes so we selected the Pad Thai. One of my favorite noodle dishes. Wu's House did it justice. I'd say 4 out of 4. Enough tang and sweetness to satisfy my tastebuds! From the hibachi grill we got the steak, shrimp, and salmon combo with a couple of sides of golden sauce (aka egg yolk sauce). I'd say it was what to be expected of the hibachi presentation. Overall it was a great experience, goodservice, and good food! I would definitely go back to give the sushi rolls another chance.
This place is great fun. I had Hibachi and it was only mediocre for the price. The cooks are doing great job entertaining the customers with pyrotechnics. Some of that lighter fluid they use to make big flames gets soaked into the food and makes it taste weird.
Wu’s House is amazing! We lived in Japan for 4 year and ate allll the best things and Wu’s is incredibly comparable in all aspects. I would recommend this place million times
We got rushed out of the place as soon as our food was served. We weren’t even at the hibachi table for a hour and 15 minutes before they asked us to finish our only drink at the bar. This is after not bringing our alcoholic beverage until after the food was served. It’s sad to say this place is ran by greed and surely not customer satisfaction. We will not be returning.
