It's a very well maintained hotel with roots that go back almost 100 years when it was converted into it's present use from it's origin as a monestsry. The tradition of full service is well practiced. The rooms are quiet, spacious and clean, the restaurant is excellent and the staff are very professional.
We stayed overnight in the Paradores and wanted to taste some of the local specialties. Restaurant did have our booking, but opened 15 minutes late. As we were the first guests (at 20.45h), we got our menus quickly. After that service was slow, probably due to being understaffed. Once the food arrived, it turned out to be lukewarm at best. One steak was returned and came back microwaved, but warmer. We chose a red wine, not available. Chose a second bottle, again not available. Third one was ok. Food quality was good, but not exceptional.
Decent food, unfortunately the service was subpar, we spent half of the time chasing waiters, nobody ever asked how we were doing, orders were delayed, we had to keep asking for the same things Nice location and ok food, little ones menu too expensiven for what they get Overall disappointing experience, used to come years ago and it has changed and not for the better.
