We’ve been here a few times before and normally everything goes well. Nothing to rave about, but overall ok. Today we had a less than average service. The waitress doesn’t scan the room at all and you really have either to wave your arms or speak up to be served. Our first 2 dishes came out with the pork being raw!!! This is something extremely dangerous and not acceptable at all. We sent it back and requested it be be cooked correctly. We ordered a Wok that was never put in to the kitchen and therefore we didn’t get it. Disappointing experience overall!!

Most places in Merida don’t start serving food until 20:00 or so. We had been searching for quite a while and eventually tried here. Kitchen closed. We had a maceta of beer and a verdejo. The tapas and racion menu looked good. The waiter was engaging even though he had little English and we had little Spanish. We decided we'd return when the kitchen opened. At 20:00, the place was packed. We got a table and ordered. We were quite hungry. But the waiter advised that two tapas and two racions would be too much. Go for one of each, then see, was his advice. We had a racion of Solomillo brasa with pepper sauce. He was right, it was big. And absolutely delicious. Best Solomillo so far on this trip, by a mile. The tapa of morcilla with goats cheese was fabulous. Huge for a tapa and fantastic flavour. Sadly, we are only one night in Merida. Otherwise, we’d be eating here again.

I had done a lot of reading and studying of Spain’s history before making the trip. And, I was really hoping to engage in some constructive and intellectual dialogue while in Spain. I never know if the bar/place has anything to do with sparking this type of conversation, but I found the discussion with which I was seeking at this restaurant/bar. Ohh yes, We discussed Queen Isabella, Ferdinand Franco, ancient roman stuff, the 400 years of Islamic rule, religion, and even my favorite tennis player, Rafael Nadal. We got so carried away and enjoyed our conversation so much, this kind gentleman bought me a beer. Thanks very much. Best of luck.

One ok item, others were all trash, no air ventilation, going to another place to eat something proper now…

It's a nice place, service ok. The food did not live up to expectation. The morcilla with goats cheese and honey was good. We had both types of burger were ver underwhelming. Below average. The bun was too big for the pattie and the beef pattie was the wrong side of rare. For me the whole burger concept just was not right on either. Chips were good. I think they have the ideas but execution needed some work. Mayo and tomato sauce in a sachet along side did not help. shame it's a nice place.
