Was Anonym at Table 1 Espresso a mag?
This place was excellent, the staff were lovely and attentive with a "nothing is too much trouble" attitude. The breakfast was huge, hot and very very tasty. The coffee was strong and hot, just like we ordered. The bonus is the car was washed while we ate...just wonderful (the car wash is a separate entity to the cafe but forms the same complex)Well worth a stop for breakfast..one of the better ones we have been to. What Anonym dislikes about Table 1 Espresso:
This is essentially a "car wash cafe". That being said, it is of a high standard in cuisine, and clearly very popular, with many tables full every time I have been there. I have two criticisms. Firstly, there are no small options on the menu. All the meals I have had have been huge servings. I guess there's more profit in big. I spoke to the manager about this.Secondly, the cheap furniture is tired, damaged and needs... View all feedback.

We were unable to dine at this restaurant due to the rude manager at the door. Despite calling ahead to attempt to make a reservation for a family party and special birthday breakfast, we were informed that they do not take bookings but would be seated upon arrival. When we arrived, we explained to a very rude male doorman that one member of our party would be arriving late due to a medical emergency. We asked if the rest of us could at least have coffee while we waited, but were rudely questioned about our relationship to the late guest. When we mentioned they were family, my wife was so upset that she began to cry. The doorman then asked if there was something wrong with her. After requesting once more to be seated, we were told that the entire group needed to be present before we could sit. In order to avoid escalating the situation, we made the decision to leave the restaurant.
The prices at this restaurant are too high for the quality of food. While most cafes in Newcastle charge in the high teens for breakfast, this place is priced lower, which is above average. The Moroccan eggs I ordered lacked flavor and character, and the coffee was average. The staff, however, were friendly and cheerful.
I went to Table last weekend with friends. My friend and I ordered the chicken burger which was very bland and had way too many fillings making it hard to eat including bacon which I’ve never seen on a chicken burger (very strange). It...would have been great if it worked but it didn’t. My friend had an omelette which she said was quite dry and tasteless. How a chef gets an omelette wrong is beyond me. There doesn’t seem to be any real understanding of which ingredients work together to make a tasty meal. I looked around and saw people eating waffles and pancakes with every imaginable sweet piled high on top. The coffee was good. I wouldn’t go back to this cafe and I imagine the only reason it’s so packed with people is because sadly there is no other place to go for better. Such a shame considering the location right in the water.
Sunday breakfast was very busy. Took about minutes to get staff attention to order. Chai tea was delicious. Our food went to the wrong table but it was fresh and huge servings. Cost for two hot beverages and two breakfast meals. I...found it expensive for a breakfast menu, however the food was excellent, staff service average.
I visited table for lunch with friends recently. I have been here many times and enjoyed, hence my return. This time I was thoroughly disappointed. Wait staff were inattentive minutes before they came to take our food order) and in the meantime they...stood behind the counter talking amongst themselves. I don’t think they really wanted to be there. Initially we were given the wrong meal and when ours did come it wasn’t of a great quality. Chips were cold and chicken wrap had no salad on it. Newcastle has some other great options for lunch, so I wouldn’t rush back.
