We've been coming here for over a decade & have never had a problem.Best Special Fried Rice ($10) we've ever tasted, best Short Soup ($8) so much flavour, excellent. My favourites the Spicy Chicken Wings, so good. Also love there Duck. We've tried everything on there menu over our time so to list it all would take forever, we can't fault anything, never had a bad meal. Awesome family business, very welcoming, & no matter how busy they are there fast, you will never see a cleaner takeaway, enjoy we always have.
My wife and I always order Happy Inn delivered when we are hungover as it's always pretty quick and good for a hangover. We have been long time customers and always enjoyed the food up until the last few times the food tasted burnt and not as good as it had been. We gave it one last chance and it had improved again, don't know what they changed but glad it is back to its good standard. Hopefully it stays this way in the future.
I went here last night. Ordered a honey chicken dish. $15 for a couple of hunks of chicken off cuts. Sorry but that's not what you want. Quality for money is a thing guys! Lower your prices or up your quality!!!!!!
The restaurant lives up to its name - the staff are the happiest people I've ever seen. From the moment I picked up the menu until I called to place my order, picked it up, and even when I went back the next day to tell them how much I enjoyed the food, everyone was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the sweet and sour slum, Mongolian lamb, and a large fried rice. The food was delicious, fresh, and flavorful, with enough leftovers for lunch the next day. I didn't experience any of the MSG-induced dreams that I usually get after eating Chinese food, so either they don't use it or use very little.
The laksa at Happy Inn is amazing (I always order the pork meat) and I also enjoy the steamed dim sum. It is a regular spot for us, sometimes weekly. There is nothing on the menu that I don't like. The only downside is that they don't accept EFTPOS, but there is an ATM just two doors down at the IGA. This place is a hidden gem in Merewether.
