What glivett doesn't like about Il Tana:
We asked if they did decaf. The bar staff guy managed to pull himself away from the TV remote for long enough to say yes, then went off the the coffee machine without asking what kind of coffee and how many. We had to call him back to say what we actually wanted (two macchiatas, not espressos). Maybe someone will twist my nose to my stars. I want to explain why. First of all I admit that there are more elegant cafeterias, rooms with a more elaborate menu, with a more exclusive clientele. It is clear that if the den is compared to other places in the most blasoned area, the vote should be much lower. I got a white wine chicken with salad. the chicken arrived uncooked. The waitress changed him a lot apologizing. the dish has been changed in toto and not ricotto as unfortunately many do when talking about work menu. the high number of customers guarantees a certain quality in the product. price: per head for a first, second, wine and coffee. That sounds great. quality was good for the price paid. staff: kind, handy, friendly and smart. Work fast but without giving you the idea that you have to crash as soon as you finish. conclusion: I arrived quickly at the place, I ate well and at satiety, the kind staff and paid little. It's like stars for me. Of course if I have to compare the den with a starry restaurant. But it seems unfair. If you are looking for a place to eat discreetly with little, the nanny is a great choice. If you want to spend at least euro per head you can go to other restaurants in the area. always open.
Great local, nice and kind waiter named chickens, great place. I'll have to go back to their education.
We arrived in Menaggio as our last stop from riding the Lake Como ferry all afternoon, before heading back to our car, on the opposite side of the lake. We were thirsty, so decided to give II Tana a try, and we were SO glad that we did, I was wanting a beer, so I approached the bar where the bartender quickly offered assistance in making my selection. She was very friendly and helpful, in making my choice. I landed on a Birra Moretti Baffo D'oro, a blond beer, and was very happy once I took my first taste. Just as I sat down at a table to enjoy my drink, the bartender came to the table with a delicious board full of local ham, sausage, and bread, to go with my refreshing beer. What an unexpected delight!
