Central Bbq Summer - Memphis

Difficult to rate highly. My food was bland and quite unappealing. The ribs were lacking in flavor and the sides were not good (coleslaw appeared to be only some cabbage with bland dressing). Its difficult to reconcile my dinning experience with the claims of Memphis BBQ greatness (by other reviewers and the restaurant chain). Also should mention others at table thought the food wasn't good.

Was looking forward to trying the famed Central BBQ for years and finally went last night (Summer Ave). The location on Summer is dumpy and has a terrible atmosphere (looks like an old seafood restaurant from the 80’s). The staff was ok, but I was instantly turned off by the turning around of the iPad and “it’s going to ask you a couple of questions” tip-flation garbage. Keep in mind you order at the counter, seat yourself, and get your own drinks.More importantly, I ordered the brisket plate which was literally 50% fat. Plus they dumped all of this nasty bbq sauce on it which I would have preferred they didn’t. The greens were not good and the slaw was flavorless.In the end I regret spending money here and may try the one downtown, as I hear it’s much better.

A little pricey for the amount of food. The ribs were OK, the potato salad was good, the portion of onion rings was very disappointing. I did like the sauce!

I love this place! But I went in today and the front counter was just completely GHETTO. gossiping about outside drama the entire time I was placing my order to the point she messed my order completely up. I ordered a 6 piece with fries and a beer how did it turn into 2 orders of wings 2 beers no fries ??? Turned a 20$ order into a 40$ order.Then as I am trying to correct my order the employeees proceeded to be rude and cut me off. I love this place but it needs new employees.

Ribs were to die for!!? Everything else was meh ? but the ribs just fell off the bone and were really well seasoned! I absolutely loved them and it is something I could eat over and over again!
