Capriccio Grill is a must visit restaurant for delicious food in a relaxed setting. I want to start with calling out our server David. He did a superior job managing our table; checking in with us just enough and with impeccable timing. Josh and I startedwith the fried oysters and tbh anything fried served with a cream sauce can’t be beat. The second course was a classiccaprese salad because we love it and we needed to feel like we were at least attempting to be healthy. All of the ingredientswere very fresh and just enough of each complimentary flavor. The grand finale was the dish ‘An Evening with Jack’ and Jackdid more than satisfy. It’s served with steak, pork and shrimp. It was all fabulous but the pork was especially on point. Wepaired it with creamed spinach and risotto. Both sides were top notch. The menu had so many choices it was hard to narrow itdown but we couldn’t have been happier and look forward to coming back!
When me and my kids and wife arrived at the host stand we did not have a reservation and she immediately told us it would be an hour with a completely empty restaurant, we booked a reservation for 15 minutes later and were seated. Hostess and front was very rude and straight up lied to us. When the waiter showed up 15 minutes after we were seated our waiter rushed us into ordering food and then took forever to bring it to us. For how fancy the Peabody is this, restaurant was nothing. Food was ok but not excellent. My French onion soup was so salty it was almost inedible. Chicken Parm was good but other than that the service was not it either, He didn't explain the butter on the board and didn't really give us any recommendations or anything. And the atmosphere also was not good from the beginning. If I had 4 hands I would give it 4 thumbs down.
The service was very good our waiter was attentive and personable. We ordered a bottle of wine, a pepperoni pizza, and an Insalata Salad. Our bill was almost $150, including tip. The bottle of wine was under $60 and was pretty good. Everything was just good and not great, hence, 4 and not 5 stars in my review. Though I am giving 4/5 stars, I am aware that we did not order any of the more expensive items on the menu. I 'm sure the steak or other pricier entrees would have been amazing. Alas, we weren 't super hungry and since we didn 't have a fridge in our room, we didn 't want to take anything expensive to go. The pizza had wonderful crust, but in general, wasn 't anything special. I 've had better pizza at Dominos, but I wasn 't disappointed in this pizza, it 's just not what I would have expected from a fancier restaurant. The salad was tasty, but again, wasn 't anything special. The attire was one thing that kind of disappointed me and is part of why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. Given the location, the hotel, and the classy atmosphere of the restaurant, I was surprised to see guests in very casual attire (t shirts, leggings, flip flops, shorts, etc). We arrived well dressed. The waitstaff is dressed well, the tables are set well, the prices and most of the menu items suggest high class, and the general ambiance of the restaurant itself is classy and refined, however, given the free dress code for guests, it felt a bit like an overpriced Olive Garden. I would like to return and give this restaurant another try to see what else the menu has to offer!
The service was so good I hate to leave a 1star review but the food was bad enough to make up for it. When I pay $270 for a meal for 2 adults 1 kid it better be the best I've ever ate. $110 for a bone in ribeye that was burnt and tough and ordered as a medium. I've ate better at Cracker Barrel
