I just tried this place for the 1st time I loved it. We were seated immediately the older guy that waited our table was the sweetest. My food was good it came out fast. If you are downtown looking for a restaurant to try, this would be a good place to go! View all feedback.
What Jennifer McClellan doesn't like about Bluefin:
My children and I came here to celebrate my son's 16th birthday. The food was amazing; especially the sushi rolls. It's been several years since the last time we came to this restaurant. Though it appears to have new owners, they didn't miss a beat. We had the top floor to ourselves, and it was nice. We will be returning. You have to try the sushi rolls. They are AMAZING! ???? I went To bluefin for a friends birthday dinner. 12/27/22 first my waiter didn’t even know the menu properly and was confused on what we ordered. He forgot to even give us drinks at first, until we reminded him we ordered waters. Our waiter had a language barrier however us not understanding him was not the problem. Our problem was his lack of ability to even do his job correctly. He brought us the wrong order multiple times and even forgot half of our orders. This restaurant was very unprofessional. The food was very cold as well. Once we got our checks they charged up for multiple things that we didn’t order. I do Not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Very disappointed AND HEAVILY FRUSTRATED with the service and food.
Sushi was amazing, service as well however korean bibimbap that they had was inedible and calling it a bibimbap is almost offensive.Flavorless, burnt rice mixed with chicken and some fried vegetables. The cook didn 't even bother to serve it the way original bibimbap is served.Just stick with japanese food :
We took a class trip down to Memphis for the day, and found that this was SUPPOSEDLY one of the best sushi resteraunts in town. However, that was not the case. First, I called twice, asking for a reservation for 20 people. They stated that they “could not take that many people in, since 4:30-5 was such a busy time” for them. Then, I called again, asking if we could split tables again, and they cut me off saying it was too busy for 20 people at that time. We showed up anyway, and there was nobody there, and they seated us in the 2 big private rooms. There were plenty, plenty, PLENTY of space for more than 20 people. Our waitress was very quiet, but she tried to do her best. However, she did not speak much, and when we tried to get her attention by saying, “Ma’am, excuse me?” at least 4 times, she ignored us and walked out. Now I know 20 people is a lot to serve and there will be mistakes made, but there were many orders that she did not write down, and some people did not get their food until an hour and a half later. Now let’s get started on the food: the sushi was great. However, the hibachi, stir fried food was not. Everyone’s hibachi and stir fry were bland and weirdly sweet, like the taste of Brioche breadcrumbs. I got the Yaki Soba Vegetable noodles, and they were basically spaghetti noodles with oil, a drop of soy sauce, and I could COUNT how many broccoli, carrots, and zucchini there were. There were 4 pieces of broccoli, 3 pieces of carrots, and 1 SINGLE EDGE of a zucchini. That was supposedly $13.99. I also got (3) 2 pieces of nigiri, and for 2 pieces, it was 7 dollars. My total was approximately 45$, which was definitely not worth it. Unless you are planning to get just sushi, for hibachi, I would definitely go elsewhere.
Waiter was somewhat rude and pushy. Food was just ok at best. Took forever to get the food and it was only us and one other table in the restaurant at 5pm. Total of 4 people and they seemed to not be able to handle the rush
The ambiance, food, and service was amazing! ? I was a bit skeptical at first to try the Chicken Hibachi to my wonderful surprise, it was REALLY GOOD! I scraped every drop in my mouth. I definitely recommend trying this dish.
