Discovered this place a few years ago and return every couple of months - Viet Rose has my favourite curry laksa in Melbourne. The place looks a little run down but there's quality where it counts (in the food! And the service) View all feedback.
What Lilian Windler doesn't like about Viet Rose:
3 of us went just after Christmas - food is good- its in a strip where there is slot of competition- tends to be a menu of the kind that you pick your style and just add - beef/fish/pork/prawn/tofu etc - you know the style. Serves we generous and food fresh - it's licensed at reasonable prices ( limited range) - will go again.
Pho is a soup which has a strong beef broth, sticky, tasty, with aniseed and other spices cutting through.I think my pho was made on a broth made with stock cubes - it had no zing, no punch, and no spice, just tasted like msg and salt.On the plus side the contents of the soup such as the noodle, mint, sprouts, veggies and meat were fresh and made for good eating. I'd just go elsewhere for Pho.
We only had spring rolls and lettuce but they were very tasty and the lady who is running the place is a character. we will return.

Timeliness, quantity, and quality have never been an issue. Most of the things I have ordered have come in separate packages for combing which makes it easier to portion out the food.
Popped in for a quick lunch and wasn't disappointed. This place serves up familiar Viet favourites . I had the sliced beef pho, broth was tasty and beef was tender, couldn't have asked for more. You will find everything that will satisfy your lunch time cravings
