Was Debby K at Sung's Kitchen a mag?
This hidden gem is located in Franklin Street away from the hustle and bustle of the restaurants in Elizabeth St. They have an extensive menu and all the dishes we ordered were nice. The star of the night was the egg white dish. This seemingly simple dish have great chewy texture and seafood flavour. Will definitely come back again! br/ View all feedback.
What Melissa Lakin dislikes about Sung's Kitchen:
Abbiamo cenato in questo ristorante cinese nell'ultima serata passata a Melbourne. Frequentato per lo più da ospiti asiatici siamo stati serviti in maniera abbastanza cordiale. Il servizio è stato relativamente veloce ma con delle pecche. Un piatto richiesto esplicitamente vegetariano è giunto con delle crevettes...il personale ha in seguito provveduto a cambiarlo, il secondo piatto è giunto piccantissimo nonostante... I've only been once, for lunch when I found the place quiet. Three dishes were shared: some sort of battered squid, asparagus with something crunchy, and fish with beans (I think). The fish was exquisite, the other dishes were good. I will certainly be back here to try more of the menu.
We've probably been here four or five times over the past few months. The service is excellent and the food is generally very good. The place is always full so obviously very popular. However on our last visit I had a beef dish that was recommended to me and, while the sauce was delicious, the meat was close to raw. I didn't complain because I wasn't sure if it was meant to be like that but it wasn't nice. They have a good range of beers and wine but only one variety of cider which may not seem important but a lot of people drink cider now and some, like myself, prefer the dryer varieties. This is still a restaurant I'd recommend if you're in the area - just be careful of the beef dishes!
Two of us went there after shopping in CBD. We had been there before many times but this was the first visit after several years. We ordered mock crab (scallops) and cho chung tong chicken (chilli chicken). Both dishes were good and the mock crab was as good as I remembered. Definitely going there again.
After spending 140.00 including BYO, I believe this restaurant is well worth the price. This was my third time dining here with my family, and once again the food was fantastic.
One of the best Chinese restaurant in Melbourne. They have quite an extensive menu. Get ready to get your hands dirty cause there's no way of eating these crabs without using your hands. The tea smoked duck in the sweet and sour sauce is also swimming in flavor. The service is good and the place is clean. Although it’s definitely not the cheapest Cantonese food in town but this place worth a try.
