Was Anonym at Melbourne CBD Restaurant a mag?

I was searching for a lovely Middle Eastern restaurant in the city. Since Maha was fully booked and too pricey, we stumbled upon this hidden gem. It was fantastic! Each dish had its own unique flavor, and nothing tasted alike. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. My wife and I were very pleased and definitely plan to return. View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Melbourne CBD Restaurant:

Ambiance is great, the decor is very nice and the waiting staff were very friendly and accomodating. Good place for large groups. We ordered the $70 banquet plus cocktails. The food was ok, nothing extraordinary. The wait time between dishes was too long we had to ask for the next dish to be brought out and the cocktails also took a while to come out although the cocktails were really good. The management and bar staff were unbelievably friendly. Really cool dudes. The waiters were also friendly, but the person who I think was the manager really went out of his way to make the experience for my friend and myself really spectacular.<br/ <br/ The broccoli was the favourite dish for both of us, and I can't wait to come back and try more options. I'm sad that there aren't many keto options but y'know, that's most tapas places. Pastry helps hold little food bits together and it's nobody's problem but my own that I can't eat it

Loved the ambience at Souk, nice decor and layout. The menu had a good variety and food was good. <br/ <br/ The eggplant and beef ribs were amazing. The rice was good but the portion was rather small<br/ <br/ Overall a pleasant experience.

Hide at the back of laneway. Food was very tasty. Absolutely love everything we ordered. Staff are attentive and friendly. Totally will come back. Light make it quite hard taking photos.

Funky retro 80s vibe, in a hidden lane way of Melbourne. Great atmosphere inside, with the neon lighting and the food is quite enjoyable. I’d definitely return when I’m in the area and I recommend others try here also.

We just had a brilliant night out at Souk and cannot recommend it highly enough! We had 5 of the many shareplates and everything was absolutely delicious! The service was fantastic as well, and they even treated us to a little dessert which was to die for! If you love middle eastern flavours and very reasonable prices, you've got to check out Souk! We'll definitely be back next time we come to Melbourne!

Honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been too, great service, great food. Honestly be coming back time time again.

Was looking forward to this experience to celebrate the end of the working year but ended up disappointed The service was average despite the restaurant not being full. Took ages to be offered drinks and what was on offer was not much to choose from A cocktail ordered when we first arrived was only delivered after we’d finished eating The food itself was tasty when it did arrive but dishes only small in size. We had to reorder more food The bill contained a dish that we did not receive so that had to be negotiated off The waiter then had the cheek to request a tip. When I complained of the poor service he told me they were understaffed which is hardly the patrons fault Would not recommend going here unfortunately

Possibly one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had. We went with a group of 16 and choose the $75 banquet definitely not a banquet and not with $75. The wait staff were disinterested and only managed to serve half the table in one go (even though we were all having the same), drinks on menu unavailable and just swapped to alternatives without discussion, food was uninspired and poor value for money, the venue was grimy with only one toilet available... all in all a place I would avoid.

We had a table of 7 people with one vegetarian. We were told there would be plenty of food with the $75 all you can eat menu and that our vegetarian would be more than catered for. The food itself was ok, some dishes were nice some weren’t. We were all expecting more dishes to be brought out only to be told dinner was finished. Our vegetarian friend was very hard done by.. she was still very hungry after her meal. We asked for a bottle of water to be left at our table so that we didn’t have to keep asking for it.. but were told by our unfriendly waitress that they were running low on bottles. At the end of the day we were all left a little disappointed after spending over $100 each on food wine for a friends birthday. Will not be returning.

At the end of Bligh Square, enter the establishment and head to the right, up the stairs. Souk is a vibrant Middle Eastern bar and restaurant filled with neon lights, and it was buzzing even on a Tuesday! Please take my preferences in decor and food with a grain of salt. We came for a few snacks, and the standout dishes for me were the truffle cheese and the fries, while for dessert, the rosewater parfait was exceptional! I'm not the biggest fan of Turkish delight, but the dessert itself was stunning. We also loved the cocktails we tried, which included an espresso martini and a kiwi mojito. A big thank you to the wonderful waiter and waitress for their excellent service!

This restaurant is fantastic! I visited with some friends, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The food is incredibly delicious (I had the lamb chops and crispy cauliflower, and it was the best decision ever!). The staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed—perfect for catching up with friends. I will definitely be returning!

Quirky upper floor venue down a little alley way. Great atmosphere to catch up. Not very loud. Nice. Cocktails, but they're not cheap. Food came in parts of tapas and was delicious, esp the fried chicken and the fried cauliflower.

The wait time between dishes was too long we had to ask for the next dish to be brought out and the cocktails also took a while to come out although the cocktails were really good. Would 've like to have seen bolder dishes brought out with more flavour, the beef ribs were the highlight as well as the prawns. The 'dumplings ' were disappointing tasted like tortellini. Not the best value for money, but worth a try if you 're into middle eastern food.
