I have been coming to this restaurant for about 2 years and previously had a different favorite restaurant but this restaurant won me over. The broken rice with grilled chicken is the best I have ever had. We tried individual dishes for the first time and the beef with ginger and shallots were as good as any Chinese restaurant we had been to. Not only are the meals generous but quite competitively priced. 5 adults ca... View all feedback.

I have been to many Vietnamese restaurants in Melbourne. Without a doubt, the main essentials are the following - "crispness, freshness, zest and flavour".Unfortunately this restaurants fails on all 4 points. The food seems very watery here and the flavour comes on too late. The chillis appear to be doused on the food at the last minute when really they should be simmering with the meat and garlic at the same time. C... View all feedback.
Their Vietnamese Spring Rolls here are just AWESOME!I have tried many dishes here and I cannot fault any of them.Service can be a bit of a mish mash but food always arrives hot, prompt and fresh. The restaurant can get quite squashy as they have aimed to fit in maximum tables but well worth a visit. If you have a bigger group or pram then best to request a table out the back.

Call me pompus or what you will but seriously if the food is NOT crisp. If the food is NOT fresh. If the food does NOT have zest and if the food lacks flavour then what is it? .... Answer? Its not true authentic Vietnamese. I rest my case.

My three tick of approvals for Asian food are 1. Value for money2. Great taste3. Generous serving This place is easily once of the best eateries in Footscray, and ticks all those boxes. One of my favourite ways to assess the level of Asian-ness in the food is to try the wan tons. Hao Phong's are really flavoursome and the soup is not too salty. I also ate the Vietnamese pork and prawn wan coleslaw. Generous serving and delicious. I will definitely be back to try more dishes. There is nothing worse than sitting in a restaurant - in Australia - on a sweltering 38 degree day without air conditioning. Hao Phong pumps out some nice cool air which means you can enjoy your meal.
There is a reason why this place is always packed and thats because its absolutely delicious. I have tried the Vietnamese pho, rice noodle salad, rice dishes etc and they have never let me down.I know there are other good restaurants that specialise but this place has a great selection which suits my friends and family who always have a different idea of what they want to eat. Highly recommended
