Gerald's Bar - Melbourne
Gerald's Bar
Description
Gerald's Bar offers a mixed experience with mostly delicious food including fresh anchovies, pumpkin ravioli, and a standout carpaccio dish. However, some dishes were underwhelming and the service was described as extremely disappointing, with rude and unattentive staff members. Despite this, loyal customers appreciate the warm ambience, great selection of wines, and friendly service, making it a perfect spot for a date night or casual catch-up over drinks. Gerald's Bar is a local gem with unique charm and a memorable dining experience.

Great drinks, awesome music, relaxed vibe, friendly people, cosy setting and an amazing menu that changes almost daily. Places this polished are rare enough in the CBD, and virtually non-existent outside of it. Makes you feel fortunate to live in Carlton North.
Gerald's Bar is fabulous, a great bar that serves seasonal food in a space where you feel like your visiting an old friend. Staff are incredible, really knowledgeable and passionate with a cheekiness that I love. The booze is always great, always drinking interesting wines and cocktails made by pros.
Gerald’s Bar has long been a locals’ favourite for those residing in Carlton North. Located on Rathdowne Street next to the famous (or perhaps infamous) La Porchettas pizza restaurant, Gerald’s is in a nice quiet part of the area and is a great location for a few drinks.
Food was okay but over priced. Wait staff were very moody and ended up forgetting about our table. I would take your business elsewhere if you were after good food and good vibes. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Lovely place good service. foods very expensive for what it is an egg with mayo for eight bucks was mystifying. Pasta was undercooked to the point where it was unsalable, but the rest was good. And before you question this review, no, it's really not worth kicking up a fuss about, it's just easier to not come back. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
