Was Anonym at Four-8-Five Cafe a mag?
Spacious, nice cafe with pleasant atmosphere. Attentive, warm, friendly with subtle non intrusive service. April, late Autumn, sun streaming through tall windows on a Thursday, 830 am: Cafe was not crowded as many customers had gone to work. Enjoyed an unhurried breakfast with a read of the paper. What Anonym dislikes about Four-8-Five Cafe:
We were hungry and looking for breaky! We found this breaky buffet cafe.$11.90 for the buffet, coffee extra. Food was average buffet fair. They did cook fresh scrambled eggs for us. A couple of the other buffet items looked a lil tired. In one respect it is good value compared to paying at the hotel, though the hotel offers a much more varied fare. ie fresh fruits etc.Overall a reasonable experience. Tick. However it... Ordered scrambled egss, with avocado smash on sourdough and a long black. I had barely read a bit of the paper and food arrived hot with steam rising off it. Food was delicious and coffee was excellent (robust and aromatic) in typical Melbourne style. What a way to start the day. Life is good. Highly recommended!

The area is at the bottom of Melbourne and very close to the Casino. There is a lot of accommodation in this area as well.

Its a warm pleasant atmosphere where you can enjoy a satisfying hotel style buffet breakfast. There is a good choice of savoury additions to eggs cooked individually to your liking. Toast with marmalade is the only sweet chouce. The staff did everything to make our experience a very enjoyable one. Would recommend .

Not recommended!. Found this place with my partner for a brunch. All you can eat buffet at around $12 pp, good price however very limited choice. It is nice to be able to order the egg as the way we wanted, but 100% solid cooked poached egg was horrible. Then is the mushroom, I'm afraid had lots of MSG for a breakfast mushroom dish, extremely thirsty and numbness of my tongue. Then the last is the harsh brown, I think they might need to change the oil with their fryer. Wouldn't recommend to visit.
