What nalia v likes about Flower Drum:
We had a wonderful birthday dinner here right before the restrictions came. The entrees were excellent and the scotch century egg and fried potato pear were the highlight of the night for me. We also tried the pearl meat (nice), honey ribs (tasty), e fu noodles (delicious), barramundi noodles (interesting, lo hon veggies (great), vegetarian 1000 leaf tofu (nice), chicken with moutai (slightly salty), special fried ri... I dine in the restaurant late October 2022. Extremely disappointed. Seated at my table more than 40mins , without a waiter or waitress attending. Had to ask for a menu , the waiter was shocked. They had forgotten us.I dont care how good the food can be , with services like this , the restaurant don't even deserve to be rated 1 star . View all feedback.

read moreThe consensus on the iconic Melbourne restaurant Flower Drum seems to be mixed. Some diners have praised the exceptional service and delicious food, particularly highlighting dishes such as the Peking duck and chef's signatures banquet. However, others have been less impressed, with complaints about bland and unimpressive dishes, small portions, and high prices. While the restaurant's reputation as a pioneer of fine dining in Melbourne is commendable, some feel that it may have become outdated and lacking in modern dining experiences. Overall, Flower Drum seems to offer a reliable and enjoyable dining experience for those looking for high-quality Chinese food and excellent service, even if it may not meet everyone's expectations.
I love this place. The food, the vibe. Just an amazing, iconic experience in itself.
