Was Anonym at E Dumpling a mag?
Googled dumplings when in city for moomba parade. E dumplings was closest. Nice walk down Degraves Lane turn left and you are there. It's a good sign when the place is full, the décor is bad (peeling wallpaper) and most people are of the nationality of the cuisine indicating genuine food, it means the food is good. What Anonym dislikes about E Dumpling:
If you're in need of a quick dumpling hit that's light on the wallet but reasonable quality, drop in for lunch. It won't impress on decor or ambience, but it's pretty tasty food View all feedback.

Previously my dining experience here has been ok and I thought I would give it another chance. I mean it's dumplings so you would imagine that they would be good.Unfortunately, my visit today was an awful experience. The dumplings I wanted had run out (how?), so I had to settle for Chicken and Prawn. The serving sizes are ample for the price. However, when the filling lacks flavor and dumpling skin (dough), whatever it's called, is too thick, it makes this a very average experience, and the cheap price is exactly what you pay for. The restaurant itself is semi-clean, the staff are not friendly, and do not care in the slightest if you have any issues. I am afraid to know what the kitchen is like, given the state of the eating area. Not only this, but I was overcharged, not by much, but still.I came back to the office and I still have this weird aftertaste that I can't seem to get rid of. Not sure if it is the soy sauce or the dumplings themselves. Will not go back after this experience. Very disappointing.

Went on the recommendation of a family member and was very impressed. Paid a lot more yesterday for some pretty bland food elsewhere. E dumpling was far better. As others have said, decor is fairly plain, but the food was fresh and tasty. Service was quick and friendly. The spicy chicken and prawn dumplings with peanuts was hot. The fried dumplings with kimchi also had a bit of heat in it too. E dumpling is licensed and has Chinese beers as well as local beers available. Recommended.

The dumplings at this restaurant are incredibly delicious for the price. It is one of the best places to eat in Flinders Lane.
