The Pilzbar restaurant is located opposite the station wagon; about 100m from the Penkenbahn, outside the ski school meeting place. It's self-service. Good moun... read more The Pilzbar restaurant is located opposite the station wagon; about 100m from the Penkenbahn, outside the ski school meeting place. It's self-service. Good mountain food and your usual burgers and chips. There is a mushroom bar tent that is popular for apres, but be careful about the Penkenbahn closing at 5 pm. We used this place for most days skiing in the area. Only very convenient if you want to call it the day after late lunch or just a few runs on site without trace to Penken near the closing time. In terms of food, tiroler is excellent and cheap. Late lunch means they cook it fresh; and the pager buzzes you when it is finished. We also tried Currywurst, Schnitzel and Bratwurst. Germknödel is popular. But would recommend the apple strudel instead. The only disappointment of the week is the goat soup. Timing is important. The mass exit at 1 o'clock for the ski school. So, arriving at 1:30, means many seats to choose from.
