Luigi's - Mattoon

The restaurant was basic and nothing particularly special. The bread was good and warm, but needed butter for flavor. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, which was just average. Some people in my group enjoyed their meals, but one person was excited about it. I'm not sure if maybe the chef was having an off day. If I ever return to this restaurant, I may give it another chance.

The food at this local Italian restaurant was decent. The salad was plain but had good dressing, and the pasta was flavorful. The warm rolls were also good, and the tiramisu was well made. However, the coffee didn't come until halfway through dessert and there was no cream until after. The strong smell of cleaning solution at the end of the meal was overpowering. The waitress didn't clear any plates until we had a small mountain of dirty dishes stacked up on half the table.
