The restaurant wasn’t fully set up yet but the owners were so accommodating and friendly. They set up a table for me and my mom. We ordered the Bang Bang shrimp to share, which was delicious and flavorful. My mom wanted a pasta dish and the chef suggested a cilantro pasta with grilled chicken. It was like a cilantro pesto.. delicious! The chicken could have been a bit spicier. I ordered beef over yellow rice. The bee... View all feedback.
What Carol Sullivan doesn't like about Pookaberry Cafe:
Was thrilled to have a new place in town until I went there. Ordered fish chips to split with a friend as was charge for 2 plus an extra order of fries. It was definitely one portion and a meager one at that. Asked for tartar sauce, didn't have it; asked for vinegar and got balsamic. Perhaps they need to do some research on a classic English dish. Sad to say, will probably not be back.
Love love LOVE this place!! Just what Mattituck needed. The food is great and the inside is gorgeous! Not to mention the owners are just so kind and know how to make you laugh! ?

In addition to good food, it was a unique and special dining experience. We were treated like family and will certainly be back! Mattituck needs more variety in dining options. I have no previous experience with Filipino cuisine, but I found it very tasty and satisfying!
Pop art meets Philippines eats. The islands best Philippino delicacies I have ever eaten. The atmosphere is awesome with famous work all over the place inside and outside. I noticed they were using local farmed produce, meats, and seafood. If you like pork I must recommend the SISIG it is so delicious!!Parking: The train stop is directly across the street from the place with free municipal parking.Kid-friendliness: Very cool for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a big ramp for wheelchairs.
Cool little cafe next door to Breeze Hill Farm. You have to walk thru BHF, exit the backdoor and walk to the building next door. The entrance is in the back. Wife runs the cafe, husband is an artist, MarcoArt and his artwork decorates the cafe. He also sells his artwork in a truck by the parking lot. They have a small menu including sandwiches, baked goods, coffee and tea. I had a cappuccino to go with my cider donuts from BHF. They don't mind if you bring in food from next door. They gave us a Portuguese custard on the house. It was so good, I'm going back for another one next week. We also picked up a scone for breakfast tomorrow. There's some crafts for sale. One of the few small shops open during the winter in this area.
