We had three shared appetizers, entrees, dessert and just sodas/water to drink. Food was prepared quickly and presented very nicely. Flavors were delicious. Waitress was attentive but not the friendliest. Very business like..took the orders and disappeared...brought the food and disappeared again. I don't understand the salads in places like this. It gets zero attention while the dinners are beautifully presented. Every salad has the same sad iceberg lettuce, half tomato slice, shaved carrot and ginger sesame dressing.

Nothing too dire and I’ve... read more Been here a few times, food can be pretty good. You’ll occasionally get a roll with too much rice or one poorly made that falls apart. Nothing too dire and I’ve never tasted anything that seemed old. But it’s the service that needs improvement. The staff never checks on you. Even when it’s slow, you have to flag down the staff for anything. Tonight was busy and I’m pretty sure they forgot my party’s order. 45 minutes after ordering and no staff stopping by, I had to find someone to check on our food. She said she’d ask the kitchen. 15 minutes later and still no response, I had to find her again to get an answer and she said they’d make it now. But at this point, we were done and left. Feels like with this kind of poor service, any mistake on your order can go unnoticed indefinitely. Makes me wish I wasn’t trying to be patient and considerate on a busy night and just complained after waiting 20 minutes.

First it’s a Sunday and place is empty that should have been my time to go elsewhere, if you want noodles and rice well no chance unless you pay extra ? First for me. Next steak and shrimp steak Tasted worst than the rice cake when I was on a diet. I just needed some ranch dressing to go with the raw veggies I received next to my plain no seasoning fried rice. Desert well never received it till we were about to leave by that time I didn’t want the $4.00 fried banana. Totally disappointing definitely a thumbs down don’t waste your money.

The people that sat across from u... read more My boyfriend and I went to this establishment for Valentine’s Day, and to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The people that sat across from us at the hibachi table told the chef not to prepare the food with butter or garlic, so instead of accommodating their request while still preparing the meal for us normally, he cooked the food the way they requested. We were served a dry, bland, unflavored meal. Definitely not worth the $40 we were charged. On top of that, when brought to the managers attention, he became rude and argumentative. Yelling at me for not tipping the staff because the entire situation was ridiculous and we weren’t happy with the service, getting nasty with me saying things ranging from “you aren’t american” to calling me disrespectful names, all of this going on in front of the rest of the restaurant. 10/10 would not recommend.

I had to get out of my cha... read more This restaurant is absolutely atrocious in every sense of the word. The waitress was completely invisible throughout the entire meal. I had to get out of my chair and specifically seek out someone who looked official to get a refill on my glass of water. I should never run out of water in any reasonable restaurant, ever. The restaurant itself spat in the face of hibachi convention by requiring that I pay an additional $7 to get noodles. Every single other hibachi I have ever been to gives both rice and noodles for no additional fee (and the same approximate base price). Mahzu didn't serve dessert. Every single other hibachi I have ever been to gives a free scoop of ice cream. Mahzu has absolutely no love for its customer, and nickels and dimes you, except that it's $5 increments that they squeeze out of you instead of meaningless coins. This restaurant is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. They will never get my patronage again, and I strongly urge you to rethink your next visit.
