D A Subs - Matawan

I've been going to DA Subs for at least two dozen years. The sandwiches are great. The bread is fresh, the deli meat and cheese lace notch and the vegetables fresh and plentiful. I tried Jersey Mikes and at a time I thought they were a close connection to DA. They cost on meat and the sandwiches are shorter and really vaccinated on meat. I was in the subway once or twice and they're terrible.

So I went to this place for lunch yesterday because I did not feel like driving on 34. The first time I ever went I received horrible service, I walked in and no one acknowledge me for 10 min because it was busy. I work in customer service and I don't care how busy you are, at least tell me you'll be with me when you can. So the nerve of me to go back yesterday and I still received horrible service. First I called to place an order and in the middle of my order the girl hung up the phone as if I was done ordering. So by that point I had a feeling my order was incorrect. Sure enough I got my sandwich and it was completely wrong. I asked for no tomatoes, and pickle on the side. Instead I got a load of tomatoes and sliced pickles in the sandwich. Like WTF why would I eat a tuna fish sandwich with all that **** on it, so my sandwich came out soggy as hell. On TOP of that I am extremely ALLERGIC TO TOMATOES, so I had to throw my sandwich out. When I called and told them the sandwich was wrong the girl said well I didn't take the order, the girl who did left at 2pm, how unprofessional can you be, trying to cover herself, but my order was still incorrect so I didn't care who answered the phone. She did offer to make me a new one, but by this point my lunch was over and I was already pissed. So I wont be going there EVER EVER again if this was the only food place on left 34, I rather starve!!!! Im bringing lunch from now on!!!!

They've been here for a long time and have the best subs in the area. They never pour on the meat and the bread is fresh. You sometimes have to wait for service, but this is just because they are really busy because people know how good these heroes are.

This is the best sub-shop in this area. When we moved here three years ago, we tried everyone we could find at a reasonable distance from Morganville. Yes, I understand that at certain times of the day, as a sub-shop, they will be extremely busy. Only the best places are, but you get in the line and your order because you know that you are a fantastic sub. It doesn't matter to wait a few minutes. I also went to peak times and found the workers amiable, helpful and very fast. Also, to save time, you can call the store and your order for pickup and it will be ready when you go in the door. The person who wrote that a star review should bring their own lunch, it is top hours in a sub-shop not dinner in a five star restaurant. I have a feeling that you are not easily satisfied. For me, it's about food, and if it's so good, I'm here. Thank you. Subs, you're the best.

I had an amazing sub! The bread was just right, and the meat was delicious. I especially appreciate how they’ve reduced the amount of salad on the sandwich. Honestly, the only thing that rivals their subs is the pork and cheese breakfast sandwiches. There’s a generous amount of pork roll on those sandwiches. Highly recommend!
