Flank steak was killer! The bartender was slinging drinks for us and made a bomb dirty martini for my husband. Highly recommend this place!!!! Everything was so fresh. I loved the house side salad. View all feedback.
Small eclectic place. Excellent German fare including a Jagerschnitziel that was amazing. Service is very good and a great bar menu. I've been twice and it's my favorite when visiting the city.
Atmosphere: Small and narrow. You'll need a reservation most likely. The bathrooms are located outside of the restaurant if you need to use them. I believe there is street parking only. Service: They accidentally gave our order to another table so they comped half of an entrée. From the bread course to the check we were here for 2 hours which is a long time for how few tables there are available to sit at. Food: The bread course was delicious except the bottom of the bread loaf was quite tough (overcooked) and hard to chew through. The salad was very bland and bitter. The entrée was delicious once it arrived, definitely the highlight of this experience. I would recommend this place to others in the area because there isn't much other German food around and they definitely killed it with the entrée.
We've eaten at a lot of German restaurants around the country and this is, by far, the best one. Everything was phenomenal! We will definitely be back the next time we travel through Marquette.
In town on a business trip. Found this restaurant on Yelp. Was intrigued by the German name and all of the 5 star reviews. This restaurant is the real deal if you like German food. The menu is somewhat limited, but I think that enables the staff to perfect the dishes. Our party went with the Jagerschnitzel and Sauerbraten. The service was excellent despite it being busy. The ambiance is nice. The prices are very reasonable. Great location downtown. Highly recommend this restaurant. Call ahead to reserve a table. Will be back next trip. Unfortunately my camera doesn't take the best pictures. Regarding the restrooms, they are INSIDE the building and just down the hallway. Previous reviews took issues with the restroom location. Das Steinhaus is inside a large historic corner downtown multi use building
Food was absolutely amazing! First time in Marquette and if I ever come back I will certainly eat here again. Beer was good and service was great. Try the chocolate dessert.
