I can’t walk by this place without stopping in for one of their teas! Sapphire and Golden Paradise are my favorites.
The tea is delightful with a wide variety to choose from, and the interior design is artistic and inviting.
Great little place tucked in behind DQ. Wouldn't know it was there except for the Groupon deal I had. Very friendly girl at the counter. Nice service and good quality drinks. I'd go back for a treat since the drinks do add up as an expense at $7.95 for some of the drinks. Their name when I bought the Groupon was Yo Tea but apparently they've gotten rebranded to Urban Cova as of today (Dec 22, 2021)
The drinks here are fantastic! I absolutely love their fruit tea and mango tango.
I had a Groupon to use at Yo!Tea. It was to expire at the end of November. I was heading down to the States just before its expiration, so I made it a mission to drop by before I left the GTA and use my Groupon. Yo!Tea occupies Benjamin Milliken House, which is a historical landmark. It was previously Major Milliken Pub House and Eatery. This bubble tea place is across from Dairy Queen. I parked in front of DQ and walked up the stairs to enter Yo!Tea. It doesn't appear to be wheelchair-accessible. This place is cozy and cute when you walk in. Places to sit down are in a room on the left. To place your order and pick it up, you want to head to the right. I had the nicest, most patient woman helping me out. I had her scan my Groupon through the app on my phone and help me decide what to get. I took one look at the realicious yellow on the menu, which is a pineapple coconut slush, and knew that I needed to have it. I got it with no sugar. I also got a large. I had to ask what was popular. She said that the fruit teas were. I got into fruit teas this summer, so I was happy to get one here. I went with the sapphire fruit tea (no sugar and less ice). I got the larger size that's deemed a cuboid. My Groupon was for $20 worth of stuff. I was a bit short. She pointed out that the place has cookies. I love cookies! I chose the nut and chocolate ones. My total was a smidge more than $20. I paid the remainder with a debit card and added a tip. I was happy. While my orders were being made with a team of four staffers, I needed to use the washroom. Being out for three hours drinking a large beverage will require some bladder attention. The washroom was clean and nicely stocked. I didn't go upstairs, so I don't know whether there is more seating up there. One of the staff members was in training. They put my order together pretty fast. I was impressed. I got a sticker with the bubble tea's mascot (not sure if it's a hedgehog, but it's cute), too. I thanked everyone and happily left with my goodies. I got home and had dinner. I had the sapphire fruit tea with it. Oolong tea was the base. It had mango, watermelon, cantaloupe, and lime. The fruit chunks were generous. I liked the fork attached to the cup that you could use to eat the fruit. The drink was delicious and refreshing. I loved it. I had the realicious yellow slush a bit later. Pineapple and coconut flavours made me feel like I was temporarily transported to a more tropical place, lounging around by the pool and indulging in everything. Reality hit when I realized that I needed to do laundry... haha! The cookies were perfect. They were buttery, but not super rich. I loved the chocolate and nuts in them. They were the right size to enjoy after a meal. I had an excellent experience. I need to head back and get more beverages. Prices are on the slightly pricier side. For instance, my sapphire fruit tea in the cuboid size is $10.98 before taxes. It's fine if you want to treat yourself here and there, but it'll prove expensive if you go daily for your fix. I'm so glad that I finally dropped by Yo!Tea. I'll be back. (444)
