Ristorante Ferrovia - Markham

Went here exactly a year ago for my bday dinner had a wonderful time so decided to return this year. I don't know if it's under new management but this time was awful and totally ruined my birthday and reading the other reviews I am not in the least surprised. Issues;-Ordered soup of the day and it arrived stone cold -Bread comes with hummus before meal, bread was good but hummus was so wet it literally had liquid all over the container it was sitting in and tasted terrible-two friends ordered meals -calamari and veal and both said they were lovely. My pasta however literally had chunks of garlic I had to crunch on and made it taste horrible. I didn't even eat half of it. - Never asked during meal how it was going etc and never offered pepper or grated cheese for food. -servers changed mid meal and the woman we had second was completely incompetent and rude. Had to ask several times for bill and then had to ask several times for her to come and cash us out. If you're celebrating something and want to enjoy your evening this is not the place to go. I literally was so embarrassed that I had chosen to take my friends here for my birthday. Service was deplorable. So very disappointing :(

The atmosphere is great here. Refined but cozy, upscale but not stuffy. Perfect for an intimate dinner or to catch up with friends. We love the prix fixe menu on Sunday and Monday nights. What a deal! For $28/pp you get a great app - try the brie, walnut and poached fig spinach salad. Then a main course...my favourite is the braised lamb shank and the a dessert. Hands down the best dessert here is the warm banana bread pudding. You won't be disappointed!

This is my Cousins' family favourite local restaurant, so on our recent trip to Toronto my wife and I treated them to a meal as a thank you for looking after us so well. Ferrovia is an honest local restaurant that provides good quality Italian food. On the night we visited the restaurant was busy but the two people serving and the kitchen coped well with no delays to anything. The wine list is comprehensive and not overly expensive, the food was plentiful and tasty. Will always visit on our return trips.

Our favourite restaurant in Toronto - service is always fantastic as is the food. This is our go to place for all special occassions.

Very small, bistro size restaurant with limited seating located in a small strip mall with ample parking. Our Caesar Salads tasted as good as they looked. Cold, fresh lettuce with a very nice tasting Parmesan Crisp and tangy dressing. Our half rack of Lamb came exactly as ordered accompanied with Roast Garlic, Gnocchi and Peppers. Our Bolognese Pasta special of the day was a heaping full bowl of pasta with many chunks of beef all blended with a tangy sauce.Our Vegetarian Pizza was big, and had ample grilled eggplant, onions, red peppers oozing in a tomato sauce. Server was very friendly and attentive. Restaurant is very busy in evenings so reservations are highly recommended.
