I typically visit this location in the mornings to get my shopping done before the crowds arrive. The store is always very clean and well-organized, and the staff are incredibly friendly. I want to give a special mention to one staff member, Bill, who works in the produce section and with whom I always have positive interactions. Whenever I need a specific item that isn't on the shelves yet, Bill goes above and beyond to either bring it out or check the inventory in the back. Experiences like this are what keep me coming back to this grocery store. It's wonderful to see staff so dedicated to helping customers complete their shopping lists. I would rate my experience a perfect 10/10 every single time.

The staff at this restaurant is fantastic, and they always assist me with a smooth checkout experience. However, I really wish the manager would stop raising his voice at them so often. I witnessed him belittling one of the bakery employees, and I saw her in tears afterwards. It was upsetting to witness. If the manager needed to address an issue with his staff, he should have done so respectfully and privately, rather than shouting at her in front of customers. This behavior makes me question whether he is suited for the managerial role.

Longo's Boxgrove in East Markham offers an impressive selection of high-quality produce, meats, and seafood. In my experience, this location consistently provides better cuts of meat compared to other Longo's stores in Markham. The seafood quality is generally reliable as well. The produce meets the usual high standards found at other Longo's locations. Overall, the store is clean and well-organized, making for a pleasant shopping experience.

I am quite disappointed to see that the cashier-operated checkouts have been replaced with self-checkout stations. I’ve always chosen Longo’s for its convenience, allowing me to quickly get in and out with exactly what I need. I was even willing to pay a bit more for the excellent service from the fast, well-staffed checkout lanes. After a long day, I prefer not to take on more work, especially without getting paid for it. It's also upsetting to notice that many of the friendly and knowledgeable cashiers are no longer around. If I have to use self-checkout, I might as well go to Walmart, where the prices are lower.

As a result, I am now deliberately opting to shop at Walmart and Costco instead. In my view, if Longo’s cannot deliver on quality and service, their prices simply aren’t justifiable.
