Aster in Marfa blends an artisanal bakery and casual café, turning fresh, locally sourced ingredients into standout pastries, bagels, waffles and savory breakfast and lunch plates. Friendly, community-minded staff and a tiny sunlit terrace create a cozy spot for coffee, people-watching and lingering over flaky croissants or a perfectly crisp waffle. Popular with locals and visitors, it can get crowded and items may sell out, but the quality and neighborhood vibe make any wait feel worthwhile.

If I lived in Marfa, I would eat here every day. Everything was delicious and fresh. Friendly staff, comfortable location. Breakfast sandwich is messy but it is worth and very tasty. The eggs and the bacon plate are rich with their beautiful baked bread. The chocolate croissant is also perfect with a cup of coffee. We also took Bagels and a Scoone togo. Loved everything! We're so lucky to have Aster in Marfa. The baked goods are AMAZING. My favourites are the cheesecake, cherry cake, olive oil cake and the oatmeal cookie (no raisins! I like it! The posing eggs are amazing every time, the calal salad is from this world, and it is the best bagel I had since I left Philadelphia. Seriously, the Bagel game here is worthy of every New York deli. The staff is friendly and hard working. The owner took care of the community and took care of them (and their customers during the pandemic). It is a small town and a small place, so sometimes there is a waiting time. The terrace is a great place to meet new friends, read a book and watch people. I recommend this place to everyone. The money you spend here is worth every cent and pays for just payment, local ingredients and a bakery in the middle of the desert.
Great place for an outdoor brunch in Marfa! I had the waffle and the Krickel Birnenmimosa Please note that Marfa is a small town. We went an hour 30 minutes before closing and some of the articles were sold out, understandable. I was happy with the waffle.
