First time to marathon. Drove into town to grab breakfast. Map quest was wrong and we couldn't find the cafe. Happened upon it as we drove around. It's in the strip mall by Canadian Tire (across from the military tank). I got the eggwich (McDonald's egg mcmuffin) and my husband a breakfast wrap. Both excellent. A simple cafe, but yummy breakfast. View all feedback.

As far as I can tell this is the only option for an espresso between Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay. On a cross Canada trip my partner and I popped in on both our trips out and back. They have a semiautomatic espresso machine and need some tamping and steaming/frothing instruction. I discarded my latte on the trip out and the second attempt was only marginally better. My partner ordered a mocha both times and said... View all feedback.
This restaurant was just okay. Despite having an A rating from the health department, it didn't appear very clean. The bathroom was quite dirty. I only ate a cookie before leaving.
This was a road trip stop, and we wanted a local restaurant (not a chain like McD) so we stopped in here. Decor was old and outdated, but the food was delicious and made from scratch by 2 younger people. There was quite a variety and we tried wraps, iced coffee, and a delicious home made dessert. The portion sizes were super as well, meaning my husband did not go hungry after eating a meal! Well worth the trip. Highly recommended for a bite to eat.
The restaurant staff lack proper training and do not speak well at all. Despite this, the coffee we had was very hot even through the sleeve, but it did have a good flavor.
We stopped by for a coffee and a baked treat while visiting from camping in Pukaskwa National Park. The staff seemed busy and a bit disorganized, with some customers being served before us. Despite the chaotic atmosphere, I believe it was just an off day. The cafe had a few customers eating in and others coming in for takeout orders. I had an amazing butter tart and my partner enjoyed a banana nut muffin. The coffee was also very good. While the place could use a facelift and some attention to cleanliness, I would return just for the delicious butter tart.
Ate here probably 3 times while in Marathon for work. (Breakfast, Lunch Coffees) Good wraps and sandwiches soup too! Nice staff and pretty quick service. The place itself needs a face lift! Being the only spot for a decent cup of coffee and deli snack I think they should give it a little love! Make all your bread in house! Maybe in the future!
