I had to wash my hands so that the washing chamber was used. it was clean, but the sink has a hahn that spills water on the counter instead of in the wash basin. Hopefully they can work on it.

They however do not seem to have much p... read more Union Restaurant is located on the hill in Mapusa is a fairly large place. They have a Cafe outside a Restaurant inside. They however do not seem to have much patronage as when we visited one evening, they had already closed up at...10.30 pm as there were no customers. When we went there for Lunch the next day, there were only two other customers apart from us. Since their most famous item is the Kingfish Thali, we ordered it. However the Fish Curry served in the Thali was stale smelly. The Fried Kingfish was ok, but not as fresh as what we ate in the other restaurants. The service was ok the staff were polite. The staff claim that their Chinese Food is good, but since we wanted to eat local Goan food, so we did not try it. Parking is also not too difficult to find, so that's not an issue. However, if they keep food for too long for want of enough customers then serve it stale like the fish curry in the Thali that they served us, it wont be long before they will lose even the little patronage that they have. I would not really recommend visiting this restaurant, as there are many other restaurants that serve excellent food all over Mapusa Panjim as well.
