Five stars.

Sad it is a place with no dog politics. for a place that wants to be seen as inclusive, I find this strange. in any case the only place I use with outdoor food... read more Sad it is a place with no dog politics. for a place that wants to be seen as inclusive, I find this strange. in any case the only place I use with outdoor food that does not allow dogs. most of the country pubs even leave dogs in the bars. I am sure they have their reasons update ... so the owner contacted me to say dogs are allowed. ok. so they could please update them the signs at the entry points that still say ‘no dogs allowed’....this is even more annoying! a star away. thank you.

Fortunately,... read more I can’t believe it—on Easter Sunday at 6:26 PM, the bar and the bottle shop were both closed, a full 34 minutes before the advertised closing time. Fortunately, we had enough time to head over to Nambour and spend our money there instead. It seems like Mapleton has turned into a BYO town, and since I live here now, I’ve noticed some troubling changes. The last time I visited for a drink, there weren’t any stools at the bar or places to sit on the deck. We couldn’t even play billiards, and when a young staff member asked how long we would be staying, it felt like a rather dismissive attitude. After over 20 years of visiting Mapleton, getting to know some locals and former staff, I've observed that this place has really deteriorated over the last couple of years. Honestly, you’d be better off buying some lunch and a cold drink and enjoying the view from the vacant lot across the street.
