I follow a vegan... read more One of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. I can't recommend it at all! Little introduction: I came here to have dinner with friends. I follow a vegan diet for various reasons (including health treatments). The first thing that surprised me was that there wasn't a single vegan dish on the menu, not even a salad. This is not very common in Germany, but I know that there are places like this. The problem started when I asked for salad without dressing (with mayo). They told me that everything was already prefabricated and couldn't be changed. This makes me think: 1) The food is not fresh and therefore I question the quality of their offering. 2) They don't care about customer service at all since the restaurant wasn't even at 50% capacity. I asked what they could offer me or prepare for me. The waiter and the owner had no idea what vegan or vegetarian meant. They only offered me a few vegan dishes, including not only dairy but even fish. When I answered them, “There is fish in it!”, they said, “No, that is what we eat when we fast.” What kind of answer is that? (obviously they have no idea what fasting is) I only stayed because everyone else had already ordered. Since they couldn't suggest a single dish, I had to ask them if the “Stuffed Grape Leaves with Rice” (starter) was dairy and meat free and could be served without tzatziki. It wasn't spectacular at all. There were only 5 pieces, so I ordered twice. My stomach felt so bad that I had reflux for the next few hours. I'm wondering if it was in good condition or if it contained some other ingredient that they didn't tell me about. They offered me an eggplant salad, which was actually a cream. They reassured me again that there was only eggplant, even though it looked like a white cream. I asked about the ingredients and they told me (both the waiter and the owner) that they didn't have that information. How can this be possible? In the end, when they brought the bill (well... they did the math on a piece of paper), I ended up paying a lot more than all the people at the table who had eaten more elaborate dishes. They said that was the price for the “Stuffed Grape Leaves.” They didn't offer a single discount for serving guests without tatziki, or for not being able to offer any other dish, not even a salad. I paid more than €20 and had to go to another restaurant to actually eat something. Finally they only accept cash (they didn't tell us beforehand). Never again!
