As for the food: I ordered the eggplant/pesto sandwich based on a previous reviewer's recommendation. They kindly offered avocado instead of cheese, which was great. However, the sandwich turned out to be a greasy mess of oiled up eggplant in homemade bread, making it unpleasant to eat. I also tried the creamy noodle soup, which was decent and saved the meal from receiving a one-star rating. The prices are ridiculously high compared to other establishments nearby. It feels like you are only paying for the popularity of the restaurant on TripAdvisor. I regret spending triple the usual amount for a meal that should have been much better.
I attempted to visit this restaurant twice and was turned away, but on my third try I was able to dine there. I'm glad I gave it another chance. The restaurant is quaint and the food is fresh and delicious. I ordered the iced lemon tea which came with a refreshing mix of pineapple and orange, perfect for a hot afternoon. I opted for the veg sandwich without cheese, as the pesto was also cheese-free. The owner came over to chat while I was eating and shared that the bread was baked with matcha powder.
The staff is very friendly, the food is delicious - the avocado and tomato salad was amazing! The staff is also great at speaking English, making it easy to discuss additional vegan options. The lady working there is especially kind and even brought us a free dessert. This is the best restaurant I have dined at in Bagan!
Ordered Burmese vege curry, was ok nothing special. Complimentary tomato salad was amazing. I think it is a lottery when it comes to vegan options.
As for the food: I ordered the Aubergine/Pesto sandwich based on a previous reviewer's recommendation. I asked for avocado instead of cheese, which was a nice touch. However, the sandwich was too oily with a thick layer of oily eggplants on homemade bread. I also had a creamy noodle soup, which was decent but not outstanding. The prices are exorbitant compared to other places on the street. It seems like you are paying for the popularity of the restaurant on TripAdvisor. I am disappointed that I spent three times the amount I should have for a mediocre meal.
