Stylish modern venue newly refurbished and what a difference. Update 31st March 2024 Soul society event held here. What is usually the jazz room was closed due to refurbishment. Tables and chairs at the bottom bar which are usually removed. So less room available. NO CLOAKROOM! NO AIR CON ON IN THE REGGAE ROOM. It was very hot in that room so much so I became ill and had to leave quickly. One woman stood on a chair holding a large bottle behind her ready to fight another woman. Dj quickly asked for security to remove them. They did but continued outside. Soul room was packed with people having to push through to the other side whilst being careful not to slip on all the spilt drinks. It's usually a nice peaceful event but felt very different this time!

When I got there, there were no customers. Two members of staff were on the bar, but all the tables were dirty and there was an empty cup on one of them. We were going to have food there but decided not to because of how dirty everything was. The manager on duty didn’t seem to mind that nothing was clean as he just joined the others at the end of the bar. The place was freezing and not very inviting. If you remember what Barça used to be like in the 90s, you’d be very disappointed seeing the place now. All the cool original features have been covered up and painted in horrible colours. The furniture reminded me of a tacky American diner kind of place. My friend and I both worked at Barça in the 90s, which was the reason why we met there, but we really didn’t like what has been done to the place, which is why we moved on to Dukes after a couple of drinks.

No tracksuits and and no manbags is exactly what we need. Getting rid of the wrong'uns is an absolute necessity! I recomend the manbags fam.

The blonde female bartender's behavior was shockingly rude, selectively ignoring customers and intentionally serving flat beers to some. I'd rather navigate a maze blindfolded than subject myself to such mistreatment again. An experience so dreadful, I won't be returning – steer clear if you value any semblance of customer respect.
