Malton Brasserie The Talbot

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was uninspiring, and the service did not meet expectations. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, there was no acknowledgment or gesture of care from the staff. Additionally, the lack of other diners was quite unsettling.

The service was terrible. we were not shown to our sitting or asked if we want a drink. it took ten minutes to get the drinks when I could order in an almost empty bar and restaurant. there were no tellers for our brot and we had to ask for butter. I had the whistle starter delicious, but I didn't get a finger bowl, no paper towel to wipe my hand, no spoon to drink the cream and white wine sauce. no steak knives accompanied our steaks, and the menus and weinlist stayed on our table during the meal. my starter was very good as my pudding, but our Steak main course was very disappointing. the fries were underboiled, and the meat came, as far as my wife gave up and we had to send it back. the maitre’s treated this fastness, spoke to the cook and then returned to say they would take the thing with their supplier! we were not charged for the steak of my wife, but my endurance was not rewarded.

Very good food , service and setting. Quality venue for dining out in Malton.

Service was really slow to start with at the bar and been seated for our meal and dirty plates left on the side near the steps does not look good . But food was very good and nice atmosphere . I will return again for the food

On an overall comment the evening was a disappointment. Slow service,average food at a premium rate.
